Postal Address Database System

    China Post boasts very rich address resources. To better provide address data service, China Post established the Postal Address Database System in 2004 by adopting the technology of Teradata

1 Construction of Address Database

    In November 2004,the Address Information Center of the State Post Bureau, and the physical provincial-level centers of Beijing, Tianjin and Shanghai were put on line. 

    By June 2005, the on-line work were finished in 152 prefectures/cities.

    So far, the postal address database system has been spread to cover 261 prefectures/cities and some county-level post bureaus in the eastern region.
